Matsubushi-machi enbu 2000

Before performing shuko-jutsu, Tokyo Shibu-cho shows the shuko while Tanemura sensei explains its use.

TAKAMIKURAI SHRINE and KASHIWARA JINGU Enbu 1998

1998 visit to Nara on the 27th death anniversary of Takamatsu Toshitsugu sensei.

Tanemura sensei together with his senior students went to Nara on a special visit to places that were part of Takamatsu sensei's life. Above is a demonstration in honor of Takamatsu sensei on a sacred ground of Takamikurai shrine. In this picture, Tokyo Shibu-cho demonstrates a set of Shinden Fudo-ryu techniques. Behind on the left are Tanemura sensei and the Genbukan group, and on the right is one of the shrine's yamabushi who performed secret Mikkyo rituals on that day.

Below on the left is a picture of a similar demo that the Genbukan group performed at Kashihara-jingu (shrine) in Nara where Takamatsu sensei's grave is located. The Shibu-cho is closest to the camera performing a Takagi Yoshin-ryu technique. Seating on the right is Kimura sensei, one of Takamatsu sensei's senior students (99 years old), to his right is his son, and on the far right is Tanemura sensei.


TAKINOGAWA POLICE STATION Enbu 1989

Some years ago a Genbukan group gave a demonstration of a number of ryu (martial traditions) in front of senior Tokyo policemen and their families.
